If you are thinking of getting back with an ex girlfriend, its important that you don’t rush. This is a big step and you have to take things nice and slow. For starters, think about the reason that you broke up. How was your relationship with her at that time? Probably not too good, I would imagine. So it’s important that you don’t get back with an ex girlfriend, if its just going to cause the same misery that caused the breakup in the first place. That would just be really stupid wouldn’t it?

Instead, think about what drew you to her in the first place? The beginning is almost always the best part. Because it doesn’t really seem like work, does it? It’s almost always fun and games, because you are still getting to know each other. You always make time to be with each other. Later on, it doesn’t feel like that. It feels like you really have to struggle to make this relationship work.

Sit and down and think about the difference between those early stages of your relationship and contrast that to the end of the relationship. Who changed? What changed?

Look at yourself in the mirror! Don’t place all the blame on her, irregardless of the reason why the breakup took place. After you have sat down, and really thought this threw, you should have somewhat of a better idea if you would like to get back together with your ex-girlfriend. The important thing is to really dig deep and see if the relationship is even worth saving. If all signs point to yes, then its time to proceed.

]]> My boyfriend and I were dating for a year and a half. We split up a little over two weeks ago due to many differences and lots of on going unnecessary fights. I don’t feel good about this at all, we were so in love and talked many times about having a family and spending our lives together. I never thought he would want this to end, even with all the fighting, I always thought we would work things out. About a month ago we got an apartment, which has made this break up even harder. I realize there has been a lot of stress on his part, working two jobs and so many things he would like to get done, but as a couple (in love), don’t you work together and not give up regardless? The last fight we had which was, well the day of our break up, he said that he just hit his breaking point and that things would no longer work for us, we’re two different people. I just don’t get it, why after we just take the step of getting our own place is he so sure that we’re not meant to be? After all that we’ve been through together? I know that this man is sensitive, emotional, and caring, but all ive seen these last two weeks is someone who acts so careless towards me, like he never even loved me. Is that just a front? I want him back so bad! He says there is no chance, but isn’t it too soon for him to even tell, I mean in time will he realize that maybe he made a mistake? If he ever truly loved me wouldn’t he want to work something out eventually? I know I was frustrating him with all my meltdowns the first couple weeks, but i’ve decided to take a different approach in hopes to win him back. I’m going to work towards my independence, not harass him, give him his much needed space. Anything else I can do to make him realize that he should give this another shot? Please help, this man is impossible to read! Every response I get is emotionless, and I just don’t see how he can be ready to just forget about me after a year and a half. Just want to add there isn’t another girl involved in case that’s what you’re thinking, I know that for a fact. He just said he can’t live with the stress of things anymore. But I know that if he would give me one more shot, I would do my absolute best to keep him happy and avoid the fights at all cost!!! Another detail I will add is that even though we have an apartment, I am not staying their through the night, I only come and go if he is not there and at work because I have no place to take my things to at the time being. All you can do for now is be a friend.. Be that person you were at the beginning.. When at work try not to be around him that might make him miss you.. You can also just be there simply if he needs you.. Try being the one where he can go to if he needs to but don’t be persistent in your attempts to get him back.. ]]> We’ve been together for 2 years. We had planned our life. Businesses we wanted to own, houses, family, everything great about a good relationship. I know she wasn’t ready to get married because I for sure wasn’t. About 2 months ago, a major life changing event took place in my life. It put me in a very dark place for a very long time, but the whole time she stood beside me and helped me. She is the strongest person I know!

During the recovery time of my darkness, I messed up. I took her for granted and used her. I didn’t show her how much she meant to me, I didn’t show her how much I cared about her and I didn’t show her my love for her. I used her as a drug to escape my demons. I thought that she would never leave my side.

Last month, I broke up with her. That was the worst mistake of my life. She said that this would be good for her and the both of us if we would take a break from one another.
The funny thing is on her birthday she came over my place so that I could give her some cake and we kissed each other. Two days later I call her and I tell her I want to talk to her face to face. But she refuses saying that when she’s around me she gets weak? So instead the conversation I wanted to have face to face (which by the way was about our relationship) took place over the phone.. She said a lot of hurtful things such as I didn’t make her happy and she wants to use this time to find herself, among other things. And to be honest with you the girl is somewhat insecure about a lot of things, but I can’t understand how she could be in a two year relationship and not be happy.

She has told me lately that she doesn’t want to get back with me at all and wants to use this time to find herself. She wants to be my friend for now so that she can get her mind thinking correctly. But I’m not comfortable with being her friend when I still have feelings for her its unacceptable.. I feel she wants to eat her cake and have it to.. And the worst part about it is that we work together on campus.
So with all that said, how can I fix this?

My biggest mistake I’ve been making lately is contacting her and worrying about her. She is my world and I can’t take it without her.

Please help me, I love her so much and miss her!

So don’t ignore your ex texts and calls when they break up with you. It screams that you are so devastated by the breakup that you can’t even handle talking to her. You want to respond to her, but do it in the right way. You can even initiate communication if you do it in the right way.
You have to maintain a strong frame of confidence, and show her that your happiness isn’t dependent on being with her.

Don’t Be Jealous

You must understand that …SHE IS GONNA DATE SOMEONE ELSE. Let that sink in good. And not only is she gonna date someone else, it can be someone you know, maybe even one of your friends. Tough to swallow I know. It’s ok if it bothers you, but don’t let it show and don’t call her out on it. Remember, you are not together anymore, and you don’t have any right to tell her what to do.
If you do want to win her back, then you just have to weigh the decision.

Be Flexible

Do not be that stereotypical angry ex. Do not throw out their stuff or demand for them to come pick up their stuff right now. Rather be flexible, easy-going and understanding. A person who doesn’t take things too seriously is an attractive quality in itself. It may inspire your ex girlfriend to start communicating with you again very fast.
