Most of us have under gone a break up sometime in our lives. You may have discovered how hard it can be if you were attempting to get your ex back. Almost certainly mistakes will be made that can in fact push your ex further away from you making your job more difficult. If you need relationship help please read further.

For someone in this position a little work learning the correct steps to take can make all the difference. The first step you should take at getting your ex back is to be absolutely sure you are doing it for the right reasons. Take an honest look at what led to your break up to see what the root cause is. You can put the blame on your ex but most times both can take some responsibility.

The next important thing you must do is not look desperate to get your ex back, this will only put you at a lower status than they are. No matter how much you want to call them to beg them to take you back do not do it. Take at least two or three weeks away from them, making no contact with them at all. Resist worrying about your ex and what they might be doing; it really is not important in the scheme of things.

After a couple weeks write you’re ex a letter telling them that you are doing great. Tell them you realize now how important it was to break up because you have been able to see clearly now how you may have acted toward them and caused problems. This letter can be a way to break the ice with them since they have not heard from you for a while.

Your hope is that they have been getting curious as to where you have been and what you are up to. The idea is to get their curiosity going and for them to forget the bad things that happened in your relationship and to remember the good. As the bad memories fade they may start to miss you and be open to talking to you again.
