How do I get my ex back?

My ex broke up with me, but a couple weeks later text me saying he wanted to be friends. I said I’d talk to him about it the next day in class, but he finished his exam before me and left before I could get a word. A week later I e-mailed him saying it took me awhile to get back to him b/c I was still upset and trying to think of what to say. I said I felt awkward being friends and needed time, but we could try and see if we can be friends. He never responded and now we sit in class like 2 people who never met before. How do I get him back in my life? I don’t want to ask why he never responded b/c I don’t want to look bad!
Is it my fault we’re not talking anymore since I should’ve responded sooner?

Don’t try to get him back. It’s going to hurt you more in the long run, and it’s going to hurt him too. Just give it some time– if you don’t see him as often, the pain will go away. IT’s quite unlucky that you guys are in the same class, but there will be a time where you won’t see him all the time. Everything’s going to be okay. People forgive and forget with time. And you’ll find someone who’s worth your time, and who will respond to you when you have something to say. Just leave your ex be.
