If this was 4 years ago when you were in middle school and early high school, remember that you tastes may have changed. It is common to sometimes dream about an ex. There is a reason why he is an ex. Unless you are both still friends on some sort of level, I would let this alone and move forward. I am guessing that you just graduated from high school and are anxious about your future. Do not let longing for the past, drag you backwards. Good luck.
