how to get an ex back?

hi im a 30 year old gay woman and my ex girlfriend who is 37 split up with me a couple of months ago. we were only together 4months but she said it was to serious to soon, maybe i did text her alot and wanting to see her more as i was inlove and still wish we were together. since the split we have met once and stay friends but i asked her to get back with me and she wanted friendship only and not a r.ship anymore with anybody as shes had a few that havent worked out in the past and also shes moving back home to save money which i live at home too. she said that she was missing me just after the split and sent e.mails to me and thats why i thought she wanted me back as she did have feelings for me but she said when we met again that she does have feelings miss me and fancy me but it was all to heavy to soon for her. now we are having space before we meet and friends again as she thinks i need more time to get over it all as i was still texting her. im leaving it a month now before i get in touch unless she does first and do you think if i dont push things and give her space and go along with friends only, show her im ok with that and not ask her to get with me again and just show her im happy getting on with life but can be round her or talk to her on phone as friends only, then do you think maybe in time if i take real slow she may want me again?
