How can I take apart a Swiss Army Knife and put it back together?

2

I got some crud in one of my Swiss Army Knives. It is really bad. I tried some WD40 and a wire brush but some of it I just can’t seem to get. I don’t see any way to clean it without taking it apart. I was wondering if there were any ideas on how to put it back together without it being absolutely shoddy. Screws or bolts that are non-standard are OK but I’d like to be able to put the plastic housing back on afterwards.

Take the knife to a jeweler. Perhaps they have an ultrasonic bath for cleaning jewelry. Even if it cost a small fee, it would be well worth it.

You might have to send it back to the company. They will probably do it for a nominal fee. Though with the price of postage there and back, it may be cheaper to buy a new one.
