Get back with ex girlfriend help?

ok so here is my story in a nutshell so far:

I was in a relationship with her for 1.5 years. Everything was great, but I was forced to break up with her because my parents didn’t like her. That was in May. During the summer, she had a rebound with my ex-best friend, and is currently with a boyfriend, whom she started dating in late July/early August. Throughout this whole time we did not speak a word to each other.
School has started. Unintentionally, we bump into each other on the first day of classes. Both of us fell in love with each other all over again. By fall in love, I mean like, 100%. However, we both acknowledge that she has a boyfriend now.

We both have told each other that we still love one another, and that the desire to be back together is very clear. Why we are not together yet is as follows:
1. Their relationship is fairly new, and she does not want to hurt his feelings for leaving him for me.
2. My parents’ objection.

At first she said if it wasn’t for #2, she would come back to me in an heartbeat. I have assured her that their decisions no longer holds any meaning to me, and that I would stay by her side no matter what my parents say. She is currently banking on #1.
She has told me to wait for her to break up with him, but the wait is driving me insane. Is there anything I can do to ensure that she comes back to me? or just even speed up the waiting period? We are so close to each other, yet we are not yet together. Please help.

your story really hit home with me. I am getting back with my girlfriend after 9 long years. I had similar problems as yours. Parents not agreeing with my decision, etc, etc.. Well eventually they gave in. Not right away but this is not about who your parents see fit for you to be with.
